All Ravens Run teachers are professional artists who currently work in their fields. Our experienced staff teaches and mentors students at all levels. They are committed to guiding students through a creative experience that develops their abilities and encourages their personal expression.

Terri Herring, Director

Ceramic Artist and Landscape Painter

terri-herringTerri has been involved with art her entire life. She has loved teaching children since her first summer job as an arts and crafts counselor (over thirty years ago!) Terri studied at Queens College in New York and more recently at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia. She is the director and participating artist of Bucks AIR, the artist-in-residence program at Council Rock, New Hope-Solebury and other local school districts. Over the years she has run the art programs at Children’s Seashore House, Ramapo Anchorage Camp, Rimon Jewish Day School, and the kindergarten art programs at Sol Feinstone Elementary School and Shir Ami Early Learning Center. Terri also teaches classes and workshops in her home studio. This will be Terri’s eighth year directing Ravens Run.

Kim Ace

Drawing & Painting Teacher


Kim Ace is an art teacher in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. This summer will be Kim’s sixth teaching at Raven’s Run. She has a BA in art education from The College of New Jersey and studied art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Kim is a portrait artist and muralist. She is married with two cats and a dog.

Alexis Amiet

Dance & Photography Teacher

Alexis is returning to Ravens Run for her fifth summer. She is a professional photographer and dance instructor. Alexis has a BFA from Westchester University. She loves introducing children to the concepts of light and shadow, shapes and textures in photography. In dance, campers have fun being creative and experimental while learning dance movements.

Richard Gustafson

Magician

Richard returns for his forth summer as our magic teacher this year. He is a full-time professional magician who has presented his magic and illusions worldwide, both on the stage and television. He is a member of the American Magicians Hall of Fame and the Society of American Magicians. Richard returns to Ravens Run as our magic teacher, where he will share some tricks of the trade with our campers. Richard will also perform a spectacular magic show on the last day of each session!

Annemieke Hermans

Yoga Teacher

Annemieke returns for her fifth summer teaching yoga at Ravens Run. Annemieke was born in the Netherlands, where she taught ballet for many years. She has been teaching yoga since 1997 and has developed an eclectic style, combining Hatha, Ashtanga and Kundalini. Annemieke has been certified as a Radiant Child Program Levels I, II & III instructor by Shakta Kaur Khalsa (2005 & 2006) and as a Karma Kids Yoga Teacher (2006). Additional training by Manju Jois (2004, 2006), David Swenson (2002) and Eric Schiffman (1997) has enabled her to emphasis the link between breath and movement. The Ravens Run campers love yoga with Annemieke!

Counselors

Ravens Run counselors are bright, creative and caring college students who love working with children. Many are planning careers in the arts and/or teaching fields.
