General Information

Ravens Run, New Hope’s Visual & Performing Arts Camp is celebrating our 29th year of bringing together professional artists and students to explore the world of creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment. We offer:

  • Full Program for Ages 6-14
  • Young Adult Program, Ages 14-15
Young Adults have regular activities and also choose a mentor for help with individual projects.

Try-it Week: A one week “mini-camp.”  Campers will sample all of the visual arts during this introductory experience.

Sessions 1 and 2: Each session is a three-week immersion into the visual & performing arts.  Campers will have a full camp experience, including being in our culminating performance and art show. In addition to being exposed to all of the arts, campers (over 7 years old) choose an elective to pursue.  (During electives, the youngest campers stay with their group for an art activity.)

Each session features different projects, so that campers can attend a combination of sessions, if desired.

With approximately 100 campers and 20 staff members, Ravens Run provides an intimate and enriching camp experience.

Campers are grouped by age, with 12-16 children in a typical group. Each group is led by a counselor who accompanies the group to each artist-led activity. (Younger groups also have an assistant counselor.) The camp schedule is different every day, so no two days are ever the same! Campers will participate in a sampling of all of the arts. There are six periods each day, including lunch. Art studios are all air conditioned.

Each class is led by an art teacher. Students are taught fundamental skills and concepts. Each child will work at his or her own level, no prior experience is necessary. Classes emphasize creativity as an integral part of the art process. Children will be encouraged to explore, experiment, and most importantly, have fun!

  • Performances and Art Exhibits
Each three-week session will culminate with an art exhibit and performance which incorporates all of the arts and is created by the campers. This is a highlight of the summer for many of our returning campers! Family and friends are invited to view and celebrate the campers’ achievements. It is always a magical. The art show overflows with hundreds of creative expressions from our budding artists. What a great way to see what Ravens Run is all about!
